Recipe
Bring Kafy home with our simple recipe.
Step 1 Measure it out.
For every 1 cup (255ml) you wish to make of the final product:
Use a little more than 1 cup (280 ml) of water to allow for evaporation
1 Heaping tablespoon of Kafy coffee (7.5 g)
1 Teaspoon of ground cardamom seeds (2g)
Step 2 Let it Roll
Next get the water to a rolling boil
Then add the coffee, and cover with a lid
Allow coffee to boil for half an hour (30 minutes)
Step 3 Filter and let Steep.
Add the cardamom to the insulated flask.
Place the sieve or filter above the mouth of the flask and pour the coffee.
Close the flask and allow the cardamom flavor to seep into the coffee for half an hour (30 minutes)
Enjoy
The coffee is now ready and can be enjoyed hot with a date.
(Be careful many flasks hold temperature well and you might end up burning your tongue)
When making Kafy using our measurements is only the start. This is a coffee for you to enjoy with family and guests. Adjust the amounts of ingredients and experiment. In the Arabian Peninsula every family recipe is different.
